Voice Modems

A voice modem offers an economical means of starting a single line telephony system. Voice modems are not supported under Windows NT 4.0.

Although they are an economical solution, voice modems have many limitations which are discussed at length in the section on Limitations of the Software.

When purchasing a voice modem, look for these key features:

We are often asked for specific modem suggestions. Unfortunately, modem manufacturers are changing models, parts, and drivers continuously. It is impossible to keep pace with the myriad modem manufacturers and provide recommendations based on all the recent changes. Our best suggestion is to buy a modem that has a return policy and test it with the software to see that it performs to your satisfaction.
