Customers that have purchased hardware locked Active Call Center product should make sure that they have the following before installation:
Step by Step Installation Instructions:
Close all open programs.
Pay special attention to closing programs like WinFax, America Online, and other modem applications. Windows NT, 2000, and XP users should log in as administrator before starting.
Make a backup!
If you are upgrading Active Call Center, it is imperative to make backup copies of all your Call Trees and preferably a mirror image of your hard drive prior to installing the upgrade. Active Call Center 2.6.x will upgrade the format of your Call Trees and they may no longer be readable by older versions of the software, making rollback impossible without a backup.
Start the Active Call Center setup program.
Proceed through the setup wizard: read the license agreements carefully.
During the setup procedure you will be asked to agree to separate license agreements for Microsoft ADO, Active Call Center, Microsoft Text-to-Speech Engine, and the Microsoft Speech Recognition Engine. Active Call Center requires the Microsoft ADO and Microsoft Speech components to function correctly. Depending on the version of Active Call Center being used, you may also be asked to agree to the license agreement for the Lucent text-to-speech engine.
Reboot your computer when the setup wizard has finished.
Install your Active Call Center USB key on a free USB port or install your Active Call Center parallel port key on a free parallel port.
Start Active Call Center after the computer has been rebooted.
The folder name may be different if you entered a different folder name during the setup.
