The Tools menu provides access to special hardware and software features.
This option allows adjustment of many of the telephony settings used by Active Call Center. Full details about this option are discussed in the section on Voice Telephony Settings.
Use the Digital Voice Selection option to select the text-to-speech and speech recognition engine. Active Call Center ships with the Microsoft Speech Recognition engine, the Microsoft Text-to-Speech Engine, and the Lucent Text-to-Speech Engine (Lucent engine not included in Active Call Center Professional). Microsoft Text-to-Speech Engine voices are Mike and Mary. Default Lucent Text-to-Speech Engine voices are John-T, John-TE, Grace-T, and Grace-TE. Refer to the chapter about the Lucent Text-to-Speech Engine for more information.
The Pronunciation Editor allows limited modifications to the text-to-speech and speech recognition vocabularies. For more details, refer to the section on How to Change Pronunciation for Text-to-Speech and Speech Recognition.
Use this setting to amplify waveform audio generated by the Lucent text-to-speech engine. For more details, refer to Amplifying Audio Generated by the Lucent Engine. This setting is not available in Active Call Center Professional.
This feature shows the list of installed modems. It shows the same window as would be seen by selecting Start... Settings... Control Panel... Modems from the Windows taskbar. If this feature fails to show modems, it is usually because there are no modems installed properly on the system.
This options checks the available telephony devices for compatibility with Active Call Center. For more information, refer to Testing Your Modems and Telephony Hardware.
The Call History file is a Microsoft Access 2000 database that can become large and cluttered with deleted call information. Use this option to reduce the size of the Call History file, especially after deleting large numbers of calls.
A Call Tree developer may have functions and procedures that are used at many different Nodes, or perhaps in many different Call Trees. The Built-In VBScript Functions file is a place to store frequently used VBScript functions that will be accessible to every Macro in every Active Call Center Call Tree (on that computer).
